The Day I Decided to Be Ferris Bueller and Johnny: A Nine-Year-Old's Epiphany

Hey, super friends! Let me take you back to a time when I was just a sprightly (you’re right..I was never “sprightly nine-year-old with dreams bigger than my backpack. Picture this: it's a Saturday afternoon, and I'm about to embark on a cinematic journey that would change the course of my life forever.

So there I was, wide-eyed and full of anticipation, bedroom door shut so it was just me and the screen. Little did I know, the double feature of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "The Wild One" was about to kickstart a transformation that would shape my entire existence.

As the credits rolled on Ferris' epic adventure and Johnny's rebellious escapades, something clicked in my nine-year-old brain. A light bulb moment that would become my first BIG "why." I decided then and there that I was going to be a blend of Ferris and Johnny, a concoction of carefree charm and untamed rebellion.

But reality hit me like a ton of bricks. I looked around at my surroundings, the small town where everyone knew everyone, the less than desirable family unit I was a part of, and the false narratives I’d already been force fed,  made the idea of becoming this fusion of Ferris and Johnny seemed as distant as a shooting star. I realized the environment I was in might not be the ideal breeding ground for my grand aspirations.

And so, at nine years old, I clutched onto that dream like a lifeline. It became my driving force, my compass pointing towards a future where I could break free from the constraints of my current reality. Little did I know that this decision would be the cornerstone of all the choices I would make in the years to come.

Fast forward to today, and I can confidently say that embracing that BIG "why" was the catalyst for my journey towards not only professional success but also for shattering the long-standing generational curses that had plagued my family for as long as I could remember.

You see, finding those BIG "why's" isn't just about dreaming big; it's about clutching onto those dreams with an unwavering determination. It's about using those dreams as fuel for your trajectory to greatness.

I navigated through life with my version of Ferris' charm, embracing the joy of living in the moment, and Johnny's rebellious spirit, breaking free from the chains that held me back, and MAYBE a rule or two along the way! It wasn't always easy, and the path was filled with challenges, but my BIG "why" propelled me forward when the going got tough.

Today, as I reflect on my journey, I can proudly say that the decisions I made, fueled by that nine-year-old's dream, have not only led to my success but have created a life for my family that I could have never imagined back then.

So, here's the takeaway, my friends: find those BIG "why's" in your life. Hold onto them like treasures. Let them guide you, push you, and inspire you. Because in the end, it's those dreams that have the power to shape not just your destiny but the destiny of generations to come. Dream big, live bigger, and never let go of your BIG "why."
